Billy Baly - Gold Medal Winner
"Our
autistic son Billy started at Sue's Swim School in 1998 at the age of 11 years
old. We had tried several other schools prior to starting Sue's Swim
School, but their instruction methods did not meet Billy's needs. When
Billy started he was unable to swim nor was he water safe. By the end of
the Summer of 1998 Billy was water safe in deep water. Sue was Billy's
instructor for 7 years. Billy has received numerous Special Olympics
medals in swimming after enrolling in Sue's Swim School.
In 2004, Billy qualified for the Northern California Summer Games in Stockton,
California and received a Gold medal for swimming. We can't express enough
our gratitude to Sue for what she has done for Billy. Sue's patience and
practical teaching methods have "made a difference" in Billy's life.

Allison & Marissa Brown - Competitive Swimmers
When
our twin daughters, Allison and Marissa, were 26 months old and walking we
thought it important to get them 'water-safe.' We looked into several
learn-to-swim programs and selected Sue's Swim School because of the consistent
praise from current and former parents/swimmers, Sue Pantos' qualifications, the
professional manner in which we observed lessons being conducted and the
emphasis on getting children 'water-safe' before anything else. Sue and
her staff exceeded our expectations!
At Sue's Swim School, our daughter's learned to swim from 'the ground up."
Before they ever took their first stroke, they learned how to be comfortable
with placing their faces in the water, how to 'announce' before going in the
water and how to immediately return to the side of the pool with "hands on top"
after jumping into the water. As parents we learned to change some of the
ways we interacted with our children around the pool to help improve their water
safety. We really appreciated the step-by-step and individual attention
our daughters received and we attribute our daughters' love of swimming to Sue
and her staff. We were so pleased that our daughter's swam at Sue's for 5
years.
Today, Allison and Marissa swim competitively on the San Ramon Valley Livermore
Aquatics swim team (a year-round, USA swimming affiliated team). We think
that the fundamental techniques and love of swimming they learned at Sue's is
part of the reason that they are accomplished swimmers. During the
2004-2005 Short Course season, Allison and Marissa combined to achieve 'Q' times
in 21 of 24 possible events. ('Q' times are the standard used by Pacific
Swimming for inviting athletes to the annual Far Western swim meet which
attracts swimmers from across the country and from outside the USA).
Thanks Sue!
